Rachael Mitchell

Rachael is an experienced and skilled consultant having previously worked as a lawyer and consultant, 11 years as a Senior Employment Mediator with the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment and held a governance leadership role, she brings a broad and practical perspective to complex workplace and organisational issues.

With extensive experience across employment relations, dispute resolution, collective bargaining, organisational practice and governance, Rachael has assisted thousands of employees, employers, unions and representatives to successfully navigate conflict. Her work includes facilitating resolution of employment disputes between employers and employees, individuals and teams.

Her experience across the public and private sectors, has resulted in a strong understanding of organisational leadership, accountability and decision-making.

Rachael’s approach is calm, pragmatic and people-focused. She combines genuine engagement and with sound judgement, to help organisations navigate competing interests, make informed decisions and build constructive employment relationships.

Rachael holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Management Studies, majoring in Human Resource Management, and is an accredited Mediator through the Resolution Institute. She is also an experienced speaker who has delivered presentations on employment law and dispute resolution to professional, public sector and not-for-profit audiences.
